We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual to join our team as a Writer Editor. In this role you will create, edit, and manage a wide range of content across Boys Towns service and program lines, including marketing, youth care, healthcare, research, development, parenting, educational training, advocacy, DEI, and other Boys Town services and departments. You will also have responsibility for producing high-quality copy for various mediaadvertising, marketing, fundraising, educational materials, video scripts, TV/radio scripts, and online contentensuring alignment with Boys Towns mission and objectives. Collaborates with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop impactful narratives that drive awareness, support, and engagement across Boys Towns diverse audiences.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Develops and edits compelling content for marketing, youth care, parenting, healthcare, advocacy, education services, and other Boys Town services, programs, and departments, including TV/radio/video scripts, speeches, and online collateral and Boys Town service/department materials.
Ensures all content meets Boys Towns standards for accuracy, consistency, and quality, including grammar, syntax, and alignment with the organizations mission.
Partners with content experts in various Boys Town services, programs, and departments to produce content that aligns with organizational goals and supports each clients unique needs.
Creates materials intended for parents, patients, donors, children, youth care and healthcare professionals, program administrators, teachers, and other recipients of Boys Towns services and programs.
Collaborates with other marketing team members in the production and development of print, video, and online materials for both internal and external distribution.
Crafts engaging stories that highlight Boys Towns impact on children and families, tailored to a variety of media formats and audience segments.
Participates in planning meetings with Boys Town content experts and teams to help set objectives and guide the direction of projects.
Prepares reports and keep the leadership aware of the status of projects, ensuring transparency and timely communication on the progress and development of all content initiatives.
Reviews content for all Boys Town projects to ensure accuracy, correct references and quotations, and adherence to high editorial standards.
Ensures accuracy, clarity, and emotional resonance in all written materials, adhering to AP style and Boys Towns brand guidelines.
Serves as a liaison between Boys Town content experts and teams on project development and lead Writing Team projects, managing timelines and deliverables to ensure completion on time and to high standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated experience in writing and editing for diverse media formats, including print, video scripts, and broadcast advertising.
Proficiency in tailoring content for multiple platforms, including social media, online articles, newsletters, and other marketing communications.
Understanding of the unique requirements for writing video scripts, TV/radio scripts, broadcast advertising, and marketing materials.
Ability to identify and craft stories that resonate across print, online, and video formats, capturing the essence of Boys Towns mission and impact.
Strong skills in managing multiple projects and delivering quality work within tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work comfortably and respectfully with cross-functional content experts and teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in advertising, marketing, journalism, communications, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Minimum of three years of professional writing and editing experience, including work in advertising, marketing, video scripts, articles, blogs, or training materials required.
Experience in conveying complex information clearly and effectively to nontechnical audiences required.
