Job Description

Hiring for 2022-2023 school year!

Join a tight-knit team that works to make a positive difference in the lives of adolescents. Our paraeducators work with students in grades 1-12 with emotional and behavioral difficulties in a special education setting. Students are placed in academic classrooms based on age and ability. Emphasis is placed on developing the students’ academic and behavioral skills to a degree where it is possible for the students to return to the referring school district. Each paraeducator will be assigned to a classroom to assist the licensed teacher.

This position is a 10-month assignment starting fall 2022 due to there not being school during the summer months. During school breaks, including summer break, paraeducators may have the opportunity to work in our residential programs when available. Paraeducators are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Build rich relationships with students.
  • Document student daily interactions.
  • Assist in assignments and work completion.
  • Implement each student’s education plan.
  • Provide safety and ongoing supervision of students.
  • Complete tasks as needed to provide a safe, therapeutic, appealing environment.
  • Handle crises in a positive, therapeutic manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
