50 to 75% travel required based on job location (may include international travel) PTI will pay for Passport if employee does not have one.

General Job Description:

PTI is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team.  The Field Service Technician position utilizes PTI hardware and software to enhance customer capabilities based on mission critical needs.  Common tasks include system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.  Customers can include Data Centers, Hospitals, Telecom, Industrial, and other commercial sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work with management to complete milestones for installation, delivery, testing, and final commissioning of customer systems.
  2. Effectively work and communicate with the PTI implementation team.
  3. Develop and maintain field reports and records.
  4. Communicate issues discovered during implementation and startup which may impact delivery of customer projects.
  5. Installation of monitoring equipment and software setup and programming.
  6. Conduct routine preventive maintenance service, inspections, and equipment health analysis of customers systems.
  7. Testing of hardware systems, individual monitoring devices to find defective issues and make corrective action.
  8. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  9. Trouble shoot customer service issues via phone and/or email and document.
  10. Interact with customers on a professional level providing exceptional customer service.

Skills and Specifications:

  1.  Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to effectively use electronic devices and testers.
  3. Understanding basic AC/DC electricity is a plus.
  4. Should have basic troubleshooting skills with electronic devices.
  5. Ability to exercise excellent independent judgment.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
  7. Excellent time management skills.
  8. Flexibility and a great attitude are a must in this position.
  9. Ability and desire to tackle new projects, learn new skills, and enjoy challenges.
  10. Basic computer competency skills to include Outlook, Word, and Excel at minimum.

Working conditions and hours:

  1. PTI is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm – however, this position does require some travel to include several overnight stays.  Most weekends off – however, occasional weekend and overnight work may be required based on the customer’s project requirements.

 

 

Education and Qualifications (Required):

  1.  High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  2.  Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  3. Must be able to travel out of state via cars and/or airlines.
  4. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  5. Ability to lift 75 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Associate’s degree in basic electronics, electricity, or related field is a plus but not required.  PTI will train the right candidate.
  2. Experience working with power systems, battery testing, troubleshooting, blueprint (schematics) reading, and/or electronics is a plus – but not required.
  3. OSHA training a plus
