In this Field Service Business Associate position, you will be an essential part of the Field Service Team, assisting  with many day-to-day requests, including:

  • Estimating small service jobs and following up with customers on active quotations and orders.
  • Coordinating with the outside sales force on customer requests.
  • Processing purchase orders, job sheets, and customer invoices in a timely fashion.
  • Communicating with Field Service Technicians, customers, and sub-contractors about logistics and schedules of service jobs.
  • Managing short-term projects to successful completion.

Construction or general contractor experience is a plus. 

Direct experience estimating or bidding such work is also a plus

This position is multi-faceted, and in a medium-sized organization, so you must interact comfortably with other departments regularly. Must be comfortable in a technical product setting.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Deal effectively with discounts, percentages, and proportions and currency conversion
  • Must type 50 WPM with 90% accuracy
  • Ability to read and analyze business information
  • Presentation and customer interaction skills

SUMMARY

The Field Service Business Associate (FSBA) works directly with the Service Business Specialist and Field Service Manager to support the current and long-term growth of Conductix-Wampfler’s Field Service business.  This position performs many supportive duties, including quoting, sales order management, sales support, and managing small, short-term projects.  The FSBA works closely with customers, Sales, Field Service, the Regional Repair Center (RRC), and others throughout Conductix-Wampfler to ensure customer satisfaction with our Service business.  This position formally reports to the Director of Service – Americas, but receives day-to-day direction from the Service Business Specialist and Field Service Manager.

The Field Service Business Associate must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, be extremely well-organized, and take the initiative to complete assigned tasks – all while providing an exceptional level of customer service and cultivating strong relationships with customers and peers across many departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Fully support Conductix-Wampfler’s service business and opportunities throughout the Americas. Such support can take many forms as deemed necessary by the Service Business Specialist, Field Service Manager, and Director of Service – Americas.
  • Handle day-to-day customer requests, such as providing price and availability, and communicating the status of quotes, orders, and shipments. Involve technical personnel for more complex issues or product failures.
  • Work with customers primarily via telephone and email to determine product or project specifications related to Conductix-Wampfler’s service capabilities. Create quotations and provide technical documents to customers when needed.
  • Regularly follow up on active quotations and work with outside sales, Market Development Managers, or others as needed to put Conductix-Wampfler in the best possible position to win the business.
  • Routinely update customer records in Navpoint for accuracy and completeness during and after customer interactions.
  • Develop a basic understanding of CX-WA products and of the applications in which they are used.
  • Collect and record details related to pending, active, and completed Service projects and sales orders. Keep meticulous records of what service work we have performed, invoiced, still need to perform, and still need to invoice. Ensure no information falls through the cracks.
  • Coordinate with the Field Service Group (FSG), Sales, customers, etc. for scheduling and completion of Service jobs.
  • As requested, quote Return Materials Authorization (RMA) evaluation and repair work and complete related paperwork or information in Jira, Navpoint, or other programs. Work directly with RRC personnel as needed on such activities.
  • Outbound call and email customers as assigned for follow-up, lead qualification, prospecting, and other business development activities.
  • Proactively support and promote the Quality Policy throughout the organization, as demonstrated by day-to-day actions and decision-making.

Travel is infrequent. However, travel to support a trade show or occasional visits to customer's facility or job site may be necessary to support the customer; facilitate learning; or improve knowledge of applications, markets, field issues, or usage of products.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TYPING AND OFFICE SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute with an accuracy of at least 90%.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
