Educational Service Unit #3 is seeking an MTSS Integrated Support Specialist to support school districts in implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for academic and behavioral success. This role provides training, coaching, and system development to enhance student outcomes with the Metro Region (ESU 2, ESU 3, and Omaha Public Schools).
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of the NeMTSS state-level team
Support school districts & ESUs in MTSS implementation
Provide training for educators, administrators, and community partners
Use data-driven strategies to align MTSS with district improvement goals
Maintain a resource library and stay up to date on best practices
Collaborate with regional teams & statewide stakeholders
Contribute to the NeMTSS website & professional learning initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
Master’s Degree in Education (preferred)
5+ years of experience in education or school district leadership
Strong knowledge of academic & behavioral practices
Experience collaborating with ESUs, school districts, and NDE personnel
Excellent leadership, communication, and data analysis skills

Essential Requirements:
No history of child abuse or negligence.
Successfully pass required background checks.
Master’s degree in Education or related field.
Five years of experience working in a school district or supporting PreK-12 educators.
Knowledge of Nebraska school systems and experience in high-level decision-making.
Expertise in implementing high-leverage instructional practices.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, competent interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Ability to communicate using technology, develop reports, and track data.
Experience and/or education in adult learning.
Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
Support Nebraska’s Multi-tiered System of Support (NeMTSS), serving as a connector linking regional providers (e.g., Early Learning Coordinators, ASD Network BCBAs, ESU Literacy Coaches) with educational agencies in need.
Collaborate with NeMTSS Regional Support Leads, NeMTSS Leadership Team, and Region 2 ESU leadership to provide on-site and virtual support to enhance PK-12 educators and student success.
Assist leadership teams in identifying and implementing high-leverage instructional practices.
Promote positive outcomes for students, educators, families, schools, and districts.
Support strategic planning and service delivery to enhance educational outcomes.
Collaborate regularly with The NDE Office of Special Education Team and ESU team members
Develop and disseminate instructional development tools and resources that support educators in providing integrated support to students
Provide instructional consultation and on-site implementation support services to school districts in assigned region(s) as needed
Analyze available data to problem-solve/adjust instructional professional learning activities as needed
Provide support/technical assistance to and/or connect leadership teams with other regional personnel around high-quality and integrated instructional practices, which include but are not limited to: Restorative Practices, Literacy, Positive Behavior Supports, Math, Climate, etc.
Stay informed of evidence-based instructional materials, strategies, interventions, assessments, and technology for improved outcomes for all students
Participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities at the state and national levels
Serve as an active member of the Integrated Support Specialist professional learning community (PLC), Regional PLC, NDE Coherence Collaborative, and NeMTSS PLC Alignment Teams
Work in close collaboration with the NeMTSS State Coordinator and SPDG Coordinator to ensure all professional learning developed aligns with broader NeMTSS framework
Work in close collaboration with NeMTSS Regional Support Leads to tailor NeMTSS Framework Workshops and supports to individual school needs
Participate with and receive guidance from the NeMTSS state-level leadership team to build capacity and materials that will support educators across the state
Contribute to enhancement of NeMTSS website and add ESU, district, school and program support to the NeMTSS Calendar
Keep up to date information in the NeMTSS Service Log
Provide own transportation to fulfill responsibilities of position.
Dependable and reliable attendance. The assigned duties of this position may allow consideration of occasional/infrequent remote work with the approval of the supervisor. Remote work is subject to the remote work guidelines and conditions outlined in the job description. The supervisor may withdraw the remote work option at any time.
Other duties as assigned.
