A Brief Overview
Strategic and hands-on leader will drive enterprise-wide talent strategies that enhance leadership capability, accelerate growth, and enrich the employee experience. Working closely with senior leaders, emerging talent, and People function partners, this individual will translate complexity into clarity, design simple yet powerful solutions, and build trusted relationships across the organizationfrom frontline teams to the senior executive leadership team. This role is ideal for a systems thinker and operational doersomeone who brings curiosity, credibility, and courage to the work of shaping culture and capability that endures.

Essential Functions

 Strategic Alignment & Enterprise Insight 

  • Designs people strategies that fuel enterprise growth, people first culture and align with mission and values. 
  • Builds systems to anticipate and address leadership and organizational capability needs.

Stewardship & Strategic Renewal

  • Respects what works while constructively challenging practices.
  • Evolves leadership systems aligned with current and future priorities.

Elegant, Sustainable Design 

  • Translates complex needs into simple, human-centered programs. 
  • Avoids overdesign in favor of integrated, practical, and scalable solutions.

Implementation & Execution Excellence

  • Ensures strategies are not just visionary but executable.
  • Leads with discipline to build systems that show measurable progress and impact.  

Team Leadership & HR Partnership 

  • Develops and leads a high-performing Talent & Organizational Development team. 
  • Collaborates across the HR matrix to align initiatives and outcomes.

 Trusted Influence Across Levels 

  • Serves as a credible advisor to senior leaders, and emerging talent. 
  • Builds lasting trust through insight, responsiveness, and delivery.

Innovation Within Constraints 

  • Turns constraints into opportunities for innovation and creativity. 
  • Designs adaptive, reality-aware solutions that work within a healthcare context.

 Bridge Between Theory & Practice 

  • Synthesizes evidence-based insights into practical tools and frameworks. 

Builds accessible resources that elevate leadership and strengthen culture.

Personnel, Operational and Financial Management

  • Manages and provides direction to the Talent & Organization Development staff. 
  • Selects/hires employees and oversees professional development on job related tasks. 
  • Conducts employee performance management duties including completion and delivery of performance evaluations, setting goals, dissemination of information, coaching, addressing performance issues/routine correction actions, and recommending termination of employment. 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of strategic objectives for the division. 
  • Develops and implements business plans for the department(s) that support the goals and strategies of the organization. 
  • Defines and approves  processes and procedures within the department(s). 
  • Develops and recommends policies related to the operational or functional area. 
  • Develops the annual budget for the operational or functional area including human resource needs. Prepares budget variance reports and develops corrective strategies to meet the areas operational or financial plan. 
  • Applies business and management expertise to set direction, measure results, resolve problems, and achieve operational and financial objectives. 
  • Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety practices, policies, regulatory, and legal requirements.

 Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field is required
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in strategic HR, talent management, learning & development, or organizational development required, 10+ years is preferred 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading teams and people management is required
  • Healthcare experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to build and lead high-performing teams, with a focus on collaboration, development, and outcomes.
  • Proven success partnering in a matrixed HR environment.
  • Strong business and organizational acumen with the ability to link people strategy to enterprise outcomes.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide initiatives that enhance leadership, culture, and capability.
  • Experienced in applying research-based talent assessment tools to guide leadership development and succession planning.
  • Skilled in leveraging talent data and analytics to inform decision-making and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in change leadership and driving organizational transformation.
  • High emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills, and ability to flex between strategic and operational work.
  • Proficient with PC software applications, e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, facilitator, and interpersonal.
  • Critical thinking, ability to work independently and make sound decisions, and problem-solving skills.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI Preferred or
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)-HRCI Preferred
