Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow to join Dr. Brian North's research group in the Biomedical Sciences Department in the School of Medicine.
Our lab studies the mechanisms of development and aging with a particular focus on understanding the molecular and cellular pathways that may translate into novel therapeutic strategies. Our research employs a comprehensive array of models and methodologies, including molecular biology, cell lines, genetic mouse models, and transcriptomic and proteomic profiling to explore development and aging, with a particular interest in the heart, skin, and intestinal tract. The candidate should be able to take initiative and be capable of working independently with appropriate supervision and guidance. They should also be able to critically evaluate relevant scientific advances and integrate this knowledge into research programs and are expected to maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and present work at scientific conferences. Designing and executing cutting-edge experiments using cell lines, ex vivo cultures, and genetic mouse models. Lead collaborative projects, contributing to the design of protocols, experimental strategies, and data analysis. Prepare and publish high-quality manuscripts and present findings at internal meetings and conferences. Provide guidance to graduate and undergraduate students, helping to maintain a supportive and educational environment and contribute to a positive lab culture by actively participating in lab meetings and shared responsibilities
