Nebraska Medicine is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our Neurosciences team, providing essential support to patients with neurological disorders. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring timely access to necessary lab services, from complex draws to specialty specimen collection. Priority consideration will be given to applicants with practical phlebotomy experience.

Location: Neurological Sciences Center at Clarkson Doctors Building North | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE

Shift Details:

• Employment Status: Casual, scheduled on an as-needed basis.

• Available Shifts:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 4:45 PM

  • Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

• Total Weekly Hours: Approximately 26 hours, depending on operational needs.

• Shift Coverage: Seeking maximum coverage throughout the week. Candidates should be available for varying shifts within the outlined timeframe as needed.

Duties: Phlebotomist

Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies. Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab in a professional manner, and provide excellent customer service. May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications: Phlebotomist

* Minimum of 18 years of age required.
* High school education or equivalent required.
* Effective written and oral communication skills required.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
* Computer experience required.
* Attention to detail required.
* Ability to multitask required.
* Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Preferred Qualifications: Phlebotomist

* Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
* Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred
