The Organizational Development Consultant plays a critical role in fostering a purpose-driven culture, developing talent, and creating a learning organization. This role will apply OD frameworks, methodologies, and tools to design, facilitate, and evaluate key programs to drive organizational effectiveness and enhance leadership capabilities, culture, and employee engagement. The OD Consultant will promote continuous improvement by utilizing data-driven insights to refine programs, measure impact, and support the growth and development of the OPPD's workforce.
1. Organizational Development Strategy & Execution:
- Partner with the OD Director and Sr. OD Consultants to implement initiatives and programs in alignment with OD and Human Capital strategic objectives.
- Partner with Human Capital Centers of Excellence and key stakeholders to assess organizational needs and implement solutions that enhance performance and engagement.
- Implement proven OD methodologies and frameworks to facilitate OD strategies and initiatives.
- Identify emerging trends in organizational development, leadership, and workforce skills to enhance existing OD practices and inform strategy.
- Assist with developing frameworks and processes to ensure OD initiatives are scalable, repeatable, and adaptable, creating a structured approach to organizational improvement.
2. Leadership, Talent Development, and Team Effectiveness:
- Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and learning experiences that build key leadership competencies and enhance employee capabilities in alignment with OPPD's Leadership Behavior Framework and workplace development needs.
- Design and facilitate team-building activities to foster trust, cohesion, and high-performance outcomes.
- Support the implementation of talent and performance management processes, providing guidance on goal setting, feedback, and career development.
- Support the development of learning resources and materials to support the organization.
- Analyze training feedback, performance data, and learning outcomes to make recommendations for program improvements.
- Regularly curate and update learning content in the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure materials reflect best practices and organizational priorities.
- Collaborate and support trainers and learning specialists across the organization on the formatting, structure, and for creating effective learning content, ensuring it aligns with OPPDs LMS best practices and standards.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and present data on key learning metrics.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of OD programs and initiatives through data collection and feedback loops to provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations to showcase the impact of OD initiatives.
Required:
- Two (2) years of experience in organizational development, learning and development, training, human resources, or a related field.
- Experience in facilitation, coaching, or consulting at various levels within an organization.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, conflict resolution, and analytical skills with an ability to build relationships and trust across the organization. Experience with learning management systems and content creation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact and influence in a calm, professional, and courteous manner.
- Experience with assessment tools (e.g., Emergentics, HBDI, Gallup)
Desired:
- Experience with Instructional/Curriculum Design models (e.g., ADDIE/SAM) and principles of adult learning and effective group instruction/facilitation methods.
- Strong understanding of organizational culture, employee engagement, and leadership development strategies.
- Knowledge of talent management best practices, individual development, and organization development.
- Project management skills, including managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in data analysis, assessment tools, and survey instruments to evaluate the effectiveness of OD programs.
- Certification assessment tools (e.g., Emergenetics, HBDI).
