Intern - Automation Tester

Physicians Mutual is seeking motivated students who are passionate about emerging technologies and eager to gain real-world experience in software development and quality assurance. Our internship program offers hands-on training, personalized mentorship, and meaningful project work to help you grow your skills and make an impact.

As an intern, youâ??ll be integrated into a dedicated development team responsible for the support and evolution of our production systems. These teams operate within an Agile/Scrum environment, following the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to deliver continuous improvement and innovation. This is a 12-month, onsite internship opportunity.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of at least two computer programming courses with a grade of â??Bâ? or higher
  • Strong interest in developing skills in test automation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Java, Selenium, and SQL
  • Understanding of the software development and testing lifecycles (SDLC/STLC)
  • Theoretical knowledge of testing approaches (unit, integration, acceptance, etc.)
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and cloud technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, SQL, or Excel VBA macros
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus
